The coronovirus emergency has the Medical Reserve Corps of El Paso County (MRC) activated and in the fight. The MRC is a program of the El Paso County Medical Society and provides volunteer medical support. Currently, MRC medical director, Dr. Sean Keenan, and EPMS CEO, Mike Ware, are directing handling of outreach to individuals who have come in contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19.

When Hank first arrived at the shelter, he was incredibly skinny and very emaciated. We put him on a diet to gain weight, and after month of being under the watch of our veterinary team, he is ready to be adopted!

DeWayne Crocker, Jr., has had a secret for several months. This Sunday that secret will finally be revealed on the national stage.
It was last year, Crocker's vocal talent was discovered online by a scout from American Idol. When the Idol auditions rolled through Colorado Springs last September, he took advantage of the invitation. After his audition, the feedback was positive. Being on stage is a weekly occurrence for Crocker: he's a worship leader at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Colorado Springs. Of course, Crocker can't divulge any details about what came of his audition, despite his friends and family -- and reporters -- asking.

It's Pioneers Museum Day at KRDO's Afternoon News featuring Diane Stine! Join this Valentine’s Day for our fourth annual Silent Film Soiree. In honor of the legendary Man of a Thousand Faces, Lon Chaney, the event will feature the 1925 silent film adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera.
Enjoy the silent film and live accompaniment by the Mont Alto Motion Picture Orchestra in the beautiful 1903 El Paso County Courthouse. Included with admission: VIP access to museum exhibits; a Roaring Twenties themed costume party and contest; photo booth and more!
The event is open to adults (21+). Tickets include 2 alcoholic beverages (beer or wine), soft drinks and a fruit, cheese, and dessert bar.

Andrew Oliver and family are entrepreneurs with a long history in the food industry. Their newest culinary venture is Colorado Crust Pizza. They soft opened but had a big glitch with their ovens that caused them to re-launch a couple of weeks later. The repairs were very expensive. Andrew takes this all in stride. It's part of the small business game. While he was with us, he surprised our sports director, Rob Namnoum, with a couple of Colorado Crust pies.
