On Monday's "The Extra", we spoke to Alexea Veneracion, Communications Manager for Visit COS, and Aaron Winter, of the Flying W Ranch, on the weekend's reopening of the Flying W, an iconic special event attraction that was destroyed in the Waldo Canyon Fire June 26th, 2012. The Flying W Ranch originally was slated to reopen prior to Memorial Day weekend, but the Covid-19 pandemic delayed those plans. Enrollment for Colorado Springs School District 11 is open for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year, although coronavirus concerns and health guidance are still being considered to provide for student and staff safety. World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is a chance to shine a light on the problems of physical, emotional, and financial abuse of elders. Amid changes and adaptations in response to the global health crisis, many seniors and at-risk adults may be even more isolated or stuck in unhealthy or dangerous situations without a means to seek help. A group of 34 Colorado nurses and other healthcare providers from Centura Health traveled to New Jersey this week to assist in lifesaving measures underway for coronavirus patients at New Jersey hospitals.
