State lawmakers are demanding answers after about a possible breach of election security at the Colorado Secretary of State's Office. 

 It's been three days since a house fire grew to a wildfire, sparking widespread evacuations for people living in Teller County. The fire, which officials have since said was human-caused, resulted in the endangerment of roughly 700 homes near Highland Lakes.

But now, KRDO13 Investigates has confirmed new details about the history of the home that started it all.

This week Jay Garvens is finishing up his report on "Housing Illegal Immigrants" that he started last week. With the influx of immigrants flooding into our country the strain on our economy and our housing situation is getting out of control. Jay will try to bring some light to the situation.

In a federal courtroom on Thursday afternoon, Return to Nature funeral home owners Jon and Carie Hallford both changed their plea of not guilty for over a dozen counts of wire fraud-related charges, to guilty, as the two have accepted a plea agreement from the U.S Attorney's office.

Councilman Donelson discuss the future of sound permits for the Ford Amphitheatre and the Colorado Springs Utilities bill increase .

Colorado Springs Utilities (CSU) proposed a rate increase that would go into effect on Jan. 1st, 2025. The rate increase, broken down into sewer, water, electric, and natural gas rate increases, would total $14 per month more for the average household, compounded each year.

The CU Buffs are one win away from bowl eligibility after their blowout win over Arizona.

A pedestrian is badly hurt after they were hit by a suspected drunk driver.  It happened late Sunday night on Cimarron Street, east of I-25.

During the Tuesday edition of KRDO's Afternoon News, Chris Moyer talked with Andrew Nutbohm, Director of the Pikes Peak Office of Emergency Management, regarding the preparations needed, in the event of local flooding.

The Colorado Springs Airport (COS) greeted over 220,000 travelers in August, ending the summer on a high note. The airport saw a total of 221,246 passengers last month, representing a marginal decrease of 0.9 percent from the previous August. Enplanements also experienced a slight dip of 1.3 percent, totaling 110,220. This decrease can be attributed to reduced available seats based on demand and the impact of industry-wide aircraft delivery.  In August 2023, there were 6.1 percent more available seats in the market, with a total of 132,817 seats for this year.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) has seized five horses in an animal neglect case.

EPSO says that on Sept. 10, 2024, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Regional Communications Center received a call from the U.S. Department of Agriculture stating they had received information regarding several horses in poor health and living conditions near the 40000 block of Alta Vista Road in unincorporated El Paso County. This is south of Simla.

Homeowners in one Briargate neighborhood in Colorado Springs are still left in total disbelief after their quiet street was riddled with bullets and gunfire over the weekend.

The Citadel Mall says that ownership and management have worked diligently to collaborate on solutions and implement the changes needed to welcome military members and their families back to the mall.

An investigation is underway in Pueblo County where at ten-year-old child was hit and killed by a semitruck.  The accident happened around 5:30 this morning along U.S. Highway 50, just east of Pueblo.
