On Monday's "The Extra", we feature an in-depth journalistic series by ChalkBeat Colorado reporter Jason Gonzalez on low Hispanic male graduation rates from Colorado universities and how Hispanic males are being particularly left behind when it comes to seeing Colorado high school graduates go on to college.  According to his research, Gonzalez found just 41% of Hispanic men at Colorado’s public four-year universities make it to graduation. Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity - October 6, 2021 - The Extra with Shannon Brinias

Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity (PPHFH) recently opened a second ReStore in northeast Colorado Springs (6250 Tutt Blvd near Dublin Blvd). The first ReStore (411 S. Wahsatch Ave) opened in 2004. The Habitat ReStore is a home improvement store and resale center that sells donated furniture, home accessories, building materials and appliances to the public at a fraction of the retail price. Habitat for Humanity uses funds raised by its ReStores to help more families build, rehabilitate, and repair their homes. Silver Key - October 5, 2021 - The Extra with Shannon Brinias

Pregnancy and infant loss is one of those topics not openly talked about in our society, even though it occurs among 1 in 4 women. So often, they suffer in silence and don’t have any form of support – through family members, friends, jobs, or even their health care providers. Rocky Mountain ADA Center - September 29, 2021 -

The Americans with Disabilities Act turned 31 years old in 2021. It is the civil rights law that protects the rights of people with disabilities, the nation’s largest minority group.  On the Extra Wednesday, the Rocky Mountain ADA Center is  of 10 federally funded centers  that provides free technical assistance, training and other services to COS and CO on the ADA – and it just received a new 5 year grant to continue operating in COS!
