Friday Dec 03, 2021
Friday Dec 03, 2021
Ramsey personally and best-selling author and mental health expert Dr. John Delony joined Andrew Rogers on 'The Extra' to get a "holiday season checkup" As we’re still coming out of the pandemic, everyone is been under a lot of stress, what should we be keeping in mind as we’re heading into the stressful holiday season? Holiday conversations are a stereotype…for a reason. With the added stresses of the political climate/covid/etc, what should be done to keep the holiday gatherings from becoming a warzone? The holiday season always brings up thoughts of loss/grief, what should people know as they process these feelings this year? And, looking ahead, soon everyone will be turning to new years resolutions, is there anything we should be using as an “emotional/relational reset or resolution” for 2022?

Evidence suggests that losing sleep can cause problems with memory, particularly working memory, the process that allows people to hold information in an easily accessible way while working out a problem. People who are sleep-deprived also struggle with choosing what to pay attention to and regulating their emotions. On Monday's "The Extra", host Shannon Brinias discussed the issue of sleep with Dr. Hazem Ubaissi of Optum.
