Each year, our local Litter Letter Project produces a unique piece of sculptural art that is constructed with trash collected from public lands and waterways during Creek Week

Eight volunteers from the American Red Cross of Colorado are deployed to Florida to provide shelter, food, emotional support, health services and recovery resources to the communities that could be affected by Hurricane Ian, which is expected to make landfall Thursday. Each year, members of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and the Colorado Springs Police Department combine forces on the soccer pitch as they take on the Colorado Springs Fire Department in the annual Guns & Hoses soccer match.
This year, on September 10th, starting at 7pm, the Switchbacks play the Detroit City FC at Weidner Field. Immediately following, the combined law enforcement team will take the field to battle it out with the CSFD. The game will played to honor fallen EPSO Deputy Andrew Peery. The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC has stepped up again this year in a big way to graciously host this event.
