Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced his resignation this morning amid a mass revolt by top members of his government, marking an end to three tumultuous years in power in which he brazenly bent and sometimes broke the rules of British politics. Months of defiance ended almost with a shrug as Johnson stood outside No. 10 Downing St. and conceded that his party wanted him gone. “Them’s the breaks,” he said. But all is not quite as it seems: even though Johnson stepped down immediately as Conservative Party leader, he said he would remain as prime minister until the party chooses his successor. The timetable for that process will be announced next week, he said. But many in the party want him gone before then, and his government has been shredded by scores of resignations.

Unclaimed Property laws began in the United States as a consumer protection program and they have evolved to protect not only the owners, but also their heirs and estates. Unclaimed property is tangible or intangible property that has had no activity for a specific period of time. Unclaimed property includes, but is not limited to, abandoned financial assets such as stocks and dividends, mutual funds, checking and savings accounts, unpaid wages, securities, life insurance payouts, uncashed checks that are without activity for a certain period of time, as well as the contents of safe deposit boxes for which the rent has been expired for at least five (5) years. It does not include real estate or vehicles

Former White House counsel pat Cipollone has reached a deal with the Jan 6 committee to testify in a transcribed interview Friday, according to sources familiar with the matter. The deal comes after the committee issued a subpoena to Cipollone last week after talks to have him testify publicly were not successful. Cipollone was one of the few aides with former President Trump the day of Jan. 6 and has significant insight into events before, leading up to and after that day. The committee has frequently referenced during public hearings as one of the advisers around Trump who was constantly telling the former president he was concerned that his actions could put him in legal jeopardy. The transcribed interview will be videotaped, sources familiar with the agreement told ABC News today. Most committee interviews have been done in this format.

The man charged with killing seven people at an Independence Day parade confessed to police that he unleashed a hail of bullets from a rooftop in suburban Chicago and then fled to the Madison, Wisconsin, area, where he contemplated shooting up an event there, authorities said today. Robert Crimo III turned back to Illinois, where he was later arrested after deciding he was not prepared to pull off a shooting in Wisconsin, Lake County Major Crime Task Force spokesman Christopher Covelli said. An Illinois judge ordered Crimo to be held without bail. Police found the shells of 83 bullets and three ammunition magazines on the rooftop that he fired from, Lake County Assistant State's Attorney Ben Dillon said in court. No motive has been given. Alex has the latest.

Brittney Griner personally reached out to President Joe Biden, urging him to help get her out of Russian custody, according to her representatives. A handwritten letter from Griner, portions of which were made public, was delivered to the White House on Monday. In it, she expressed fears she will be held in Russia "forever." But so far, no word from the White house on what the plan is to secure Griner's release. Andy will be monitoring today's White House briefing for the latest. Meanwhile, Rep. Liz Cheney said in an interview with ABC News' that he Justice Department should not avoid prosecuting Donald Trump in relation to the Jan. 6 Capitol attack if a prosecution is warranted. "Are you worried about what that means for the country, to [see] a former president prosecuted? A former president who was a likely candidate; who may in fact be running for president against Biden?" Karl asked Cheney. "I think it's a much graver constitutional threat if a president can engage in these kinds of activities, and the majority of the president's party looks away; or we as a country decide we're not actually going to take our constitutional obligations seriously," Cheney said. "I think that's a much, a much more serious threat."
