The Biden Administration is declaring monkeypox to be a public health emergency and amid high demand for the vaccine, the FDA is considering using a one dose vial of the vaccine to administer five separate doses until more vaccine can be made. It’s under consideration right now to stretch how many people could get the vaccine. Work is underway to expand vaccine production beyond the one company in Denmark that is producing it for the entire world. Also, administration officials say it does not appear that touching surfaces, like on playgrounds or public transportation, will transmit the virus.
