AAA is bringing back a popular contest for 8th graders, where the winners are taken on a week-long educational river cruise in Europe. There is no cost to enter the contest and the prize includes the cruise, airfare, travel insurance and money for passports - for the student and a parent or guardian.
The "Discovery Crew" contest begins today and is provided by AAA - The Auto Club Group, AmaWaterways and Allianz Global Assistance. Up to 60 student winners will be chosen from the contest, which is open to students in The Auto Club Group's select 14 states (including Colorado).

The Greater Pueblo Chamber and the Visit Pueblo are excited to celebrate Pueblo Chile Day at the Colorado State Fair on Saturday, September 3, 2022!
You won’t want to miss this! There will be farm stand maps, fresh, certified Pueblo Chile being roasted, and handmade Pueblo Chile wraps being prepared. The Pueblo Chile Booth will open at 11am and roasting will begin at 11:30am.
We will also be hosting Art Mosaic Project Pueblo. Artists, young and seasoned can come be a part of history. Saturday at the Explore Colorado Building we are offering free wood mosaic crafting session with artists from Pueblo. Stop by from 11am-4pm and to help shape a masterpiece. Adults and children welcome. The Colorado Tourism office, Visit Pueblo, and the Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce are looking forward to your work of art!

Today is the start of the Labor Day travel period and when passengers show up at some major airports, they are going to see pilots picketing. Pilots from the biggest airlines including Delta, United, and American are on the picket line at airports calling on management to fix operational problems that have led to a summer of cancelled and delayed flights impacting passengers and flight crews. They are off duty pilots so the picketing is not expected to impact flights today. Airlines say they are fully staffed and ready to go for this busy travel weekend. Today, tomorrow, and Monday are expected to be the busiest travel days of Labor Day weekend.

Each year, members of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and the Colorado Springs Police Department combine forces on the soccer pitch as they take on the Colorado Springs Fire Department in the annual Guns & Hoses soccer match.
This year, on September 10th, starting at 7pm, the Switchbacks play the Detroit City FC at Weidner Field. Immediately following, the combined law enforcement team will take the field to battle it out with the CSFD. The game will played to honor fallen EPSO Deputy Andrew Peery. The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC has stepped up again this year in a big way to graciously host this event.
