After less than two years of construction, Colorado Springs Utilities has completed installation of six, state-of-the-art natural gas generating units – with a combined generating capacity of 162 megawatts – outside the now-closed, downtown Martin Drake Power Plant. The units fulfill an important part of the utility’s strategy as it pursues its goal to reduce carbon emissions by 80% by 2030.
