The Extra with Shannon Brinias - September 21, 2020

Tuesday on KRDO News Radio's "The Extra", it was a return to the airwaves for former KRDO News Anchor Jon Karroll, now the Marketing and Outreach Coordinator with non-profit Special Kids Special Families.  Jon and colleague Sandra Dunlap joined host Shannon Brinias to discuss the mission of SKSF, and how its various programs offer community support services to families and are designed to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities throughout their life span.  SKSF was founded to provide respite and specialized care for children with disabilities and special needs.  Now, it also provides foster care placement services, and a variety of other programs.  Sandra discussed an upcoming opportunity on Tues., Oct. 6th, to discuss training for becoming a foster parent; meanwhile, Jon talked about an upcoming fundraiser, the organization's 9th Annual Night of Comedy on Saturday, October 10th from 6p-7:30p.  This year, the event will be a virtual event, with remote viewing of Comedian Steve Mazan's performance, with a live silent auction taking place among viewers.   More information can be found at YouTube.com/sksfcolorado and sksfcolorado.org/event.  If you'd like information about foster care, call Sandra at  (719) 447-8983.
