On March 11th, 2020, the World Health Organization declared the Covid-19 health emergency a global pandemic, following Governor Jared Polis declaring a State of Emergency the day prior. The events started ushering in drastic changes designed to curb the spread of covid-19. The growing health emergency would lead to the shutdowns, restrictions, mask mandates and other changes to come. The Governor's declaration came at a time when there were fewer than two dozen cases statewide. One year later, the number of cases statewide has grown to more than 440,000 and more than 6,000 Covid 19 deaths statewide. Guests for Part 2 of our two-part special, "Colorado's Covid Emergency: One Year Later" included Colorado Springs Mayor John Suthers, El Paso County Public Health's Communicable Disease Program Manager, Kimberly Pattison and VisitCOS CEO and Executive Director Doug Price.
