ABC's Mark Remillard joined Andrew Rogers on KRDO's Afternoon News with troubling news as Dr. Anthony Fauci seemed to indicate this morning that he's concerned about the South African and UK variants of COVID-19 being more deadly. Vaccine maker Moderna is now launching studies of "an emerging variant booster candidate" against the South African variant of the virus.   The company says that out of an “abundance of caution" it is testing two strategies - one to explore whether adding an extra dose could offer extra protection, and another study with a version of their original vaccine that’s more tailored to the South African variant.
