In a pre-taped interview, President Biden spoke with Ryan Seacrest while in St. Croix to ring in the new year, and expressed his optimism for 2023, saying "I've never been more optimistic about America in my whole career and you know, the easiest thing is -- we've been through so much. So much difficulty, the pandemic flu, a whole range of things. And look how the American people fought back and they got up and there's nothing that can hold them down.” Despite his optimistic tone, 2023 could be a challenging year for the president, as he will now have to deal with a divided Congress, as well as several ongoing crises from inflation to the war in Ukraine.
