El Paso County Board of County Commissioners, Chair, Mark Waller, announced that the county received $125,700,000 from the federal government under the CARES Act. In two examples, Waller noted that the funds will be used in part to cover costs associated with millions of dollars in technology needed to allow county employees to work remotely. And, he said, the sheriff’s office will be reimbursed for expenses incurred in keeping prison inmates segregated and safe. He also said the county will also share some of the CARES act money with municipalities in the region needing financial assistance. Stay with the KRDO network for more on this developing story.
