Stores nationwide are struggling to keep their shelves stocked with baby formula with 40 percent of formula out of stock. In some states, more than half of formula is sold out in stores. So what’s making it so hard to get? The deaths of two infants from a rare infection prompted an FDA investigation of formula producer Abbott, which snowballed into a recall of several brands. Combine that with an already strained supply chain and the ongoing pandemic, and parents are left looking for alternatives. Brian has details.
