The House committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol attack is set to hold public hearings in June. Chairman Rep. Bennie Thompson told reporters to expect at least 8 hearings. "We'll tell the story about what happened. We will use a combination of witnesses, exhibits, things that we have -- to the tens of thousands of exhibits we've interviewed and looked at as well as the hundreds of witnesses we deposed or just talked to in general," Thompson said. He added that the panel will re-invite House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy and other Republicans linked to the Jan. 6 conversations inside the Trump White House to cooperate with their investigation "before the week is out."

It was the case the country was riveted by in 2016 when mother and wife Sherri Papini disappeared. She turned up weeks later on Thanksgiving Day of 2016 claiming she had been held by two women in chains and branded after she was kidnapped. Now 6 years later the FBI says she lied about the whole thing. She has denied that until last week when she signed a plea deal admitting he made it up. Today she will appear remotely in federal court to officially enter her guilty plea and admit it was a lie. She won't learn her sentence until this Summer. She could get a max of 20 years in prison.

With an infusion of $2.7M from the City’s reserves, Mayor John Suthers on Monday announced the launch of “Keep It Clean COS,” a comprehensive initiative aimed at reducing litter in Colorado Springs. The program has several components. First, the $2.7M will go to purchase new street sweepers and vacuum trucks, and to add manpower to remove trash from medians, streets and other public rights of way. Second, the city is challenging businesses and private citizens to clean up their own property, whether residential or commercial. Finally, Suthers announced a new citywide award. The “Keep It Clean COS Spirit of the Springs Award” will be given annually in the fall to a resident or volunteer community group that has made a significant contribution to helping keep Colorado Springs clean.
