AAA is bringing back a popular contest for 8th graders, where the winners are taken on a week-long educational river cruise in Europe. Today is the start of the Labor Day travel period and when passengers show up at some major airports, they are going to see pilots picketing.  Pilots from the biggest airlines including Delta, United, and American are on the picket line at airports calling on management to fix operational problems that have led to a summer of cancelled and delayed flights impacting passengers and flight crews.  They are off duty pilots so the picketing is not expected to impact flights today.  Airlines say they are fully staffed and ready to go for this busy travel weekend.  Today, tomorrow, and Monday are expected to be the busiest travel days of Labor Day weekend.

Thirteen new Court Appointed Special Advocates, or CASA volunteers, were sworn in as officers of the court by Fourth Judicial District Judge William Bain during a swearing-in ceremony at the El Paso County Courthouse on Tuesday.

 

The Justice Department on Tuesday responded to former President Trump's call for a "special master" to review materials the FBI seized at his Mar-a-Lago estate.  Trump's lawyers have said the review is needed to deal with matters they argue may be covered by executive privilege. But in their 36-page filing, top department officials laid out in extraordinary detail their efforts to obtain highly classified records they allege were improperly stored at Mar-a-Lago since Trump's departure from the White House, and the resistance -- which they describe outright as obstructive conduct, that they were met with by Trump's representatives in their efforts to have them handed over.   Does this spell trouble for Trump and his lawyers?  Royal answers your questions.

Each year, members of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and the Colorado Springs Police Department combine forces on the soccer pitch as they take on the Colorado Springs Fire Department in the annual Guns & Hoses  soccer match. 

 

This year, on September 10^th, starting at 7pm, the Switchbacks play the Detroit City FC at Weidner Field.  Immediately following, the combined law enforcement team will take the field to battle it out with the CSFD.  The game will played to honor fallen EPSO Deputy Andrew Peery.  The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC has stepped up again this year in a big way to graciously host this event.
