Celebrity appearances were frequent, with Will Ferrell teaming up with Keenan Thompson and Awkwafina to show off GM’s latest electric cars. Jeep landed a two-minute spot featuring Bruce Springsteen - a first for the notoriously advertising-averse rockstar. Robinhood, a trading app that gained infamy in recent weeks following the Gamestop short-squeeze, aired a spot with the message “we are all investors.” Some major brands, like Hyundai and Budweiser, were absent this year - vowing instead to donate to coronavirus relief (the Clydesdales still managed to make an appearance, however.)

Officials say that even if that pace isn’t reached, they are “confident” that more than 30 million of the top nine most vulnerable groups in the UK will be vaccinated by the end of May.
